About
Jay Simelda-Longe, creative mind, intersectional human.
My name is Jay, I go by they/them pronouns. I love to make anything and everything. I work mostly in design and have done for 5+ years. However, you will also often find me working with paper and ink, charcoal, pencil, digital illustration, craft arts, sewing, embroidering, printmaking, collage, and acrylic paint. I also consider myself pretty skilled with photography and videography (I have been working with DSLR cameras since early 2014). I like to spend my time split between two of my favorite small cities: Boulder, Colorado and Saint Petersburg, Florida.
I wanted to make a career out of doing what I love, so when I attended Eckerd College in St. Pete, I majored in Communication and Visual Art. I now work for the Boulder-based non-profit, PeopleForBikes. I do this while defining my own personal brand (Radiate Creative) and taking whatever creative work opportunities come my way.
I have received third place for a short film featured in the Salvador Dali Museum Surreal Film Competition. I have completed fifteen art courses at Eckerd College, including a creative internship and two self-constructed independent studies in Photography. I have worked with non-profits like "Venus," the gallery/studio location of the St. Pete Women's Collective. Meanwhile, I have also worked multiple contract and freelance positions too.
If you want to work together on anything, feel free to head to my contact page. I love working with interesting people (and everyone is interesting when they're doing what they love and care about).
